The Service Connector App enables teams to quickly set up custom interfaces between the ServiceNow platform and external systems. While many ready-made connectors exist within ServiceNow, the Service Connector is designed for situations where speed and customisation are critical. Interfaces can be configured entirely via the UI—no coding required—while still allowing for advanced use cases through scripting.


What's new in version 2.3.3?

Version 2.3.3 is now available in the ServiceNow Store, with full support for the Yokohama release and several improvements to both performance and usability:

  • Support for OpenAPI v3.1.0
    Inbound configurations can now generate API documentation in OpenAPI Specification v3.1.0. Backward compatibility with v3.0.1 remains available.
  • Improved performance for outbound queues
    Outbound (bulk) queues are now processed via multiple scheduled jobs running in parallel, significantly increasing throughput.
  • Security and performance enhancements
    Legacy ACLs have been optimised by moving to Security Attributes. A new option enforces GlideRecordSecure, ensuring ACLs are applied when accessing data outside the Service Connector scope.
  • Smarter field mapping
    When configuring new field maps, parameter fields are automatically pre-filled based on the selected field name.
  • Updated data handling and logging
    Data Management Policies for the queue and log tables have been refined. For bulk configurations, data selection is now more accurate, reflecting the state at the time of execution. Archive log records are processed hourly, triggering appropriate insert/delete actions when restored or archived.

Features of the Service Connector Application

   Major ServiceNow tables within ITSM and Foundation Data can be interfaced with.
   The Service Connector can be set up to work as a case exchange, a hub between other systems or as an event receiver.
   Both enterprise industry standards of REST and SOAP are supported. Inbound and outbound interface traffic can use either freely.
   Allows for bi-directional, synchronous (instant) and asynchronous (scheduled) processing.
